Here's a cute way to use up scraps and show your gratitude this fall! It's perfect to document the fall, what you're grateful for or even give away as a gift.. read on for more details :)
This project was made, as I'm sure you've figured out by now, with leftovers. The tin was from a set of embellishments, the paper is scraps from a project and the embellishments we're leftovers as well! I am sure that you could buy a tin to make this project work but lots of other things will work to, like an old pencil case, a cd case, a tiny basket, or cardboard packaging.
Materials:
- Pattern paper assortment, I used Autumn Splendor from Making Memories
- Paper trimmer
- Corner Rounder
- stamps+ink - thank you, cirlces.. depends how you use the tin!
- ribbon and embellishments
How to:
Once you've gathered all your materials I cut my square to fit the tin. In my case this worked out to be 3.75"x3.75". I then rounded the corners on each square so that it would actually fit into the tin properly!
The fun part is next - decorate and embellish! I made my tin as an A-Z and in each stamped circle I wrote the letter followed with a description, thought or sentiment that somehow matched the letter. Don't forget to decorate the lid!
There are lots of options if this doesn't work for you! Some ideas I had:
- gift it to a neighbour or friend as a thank you note set - stamp each square with a thanks sentiment and include a pen in the ribbon on top of the tin!
- use the papers a journaling squares for a layout to put together later
- use them as stationary for your kids, partner or friends - pop a quick note in their lunch bag or attach it to a thank you gift.
Goodbye fall!
Hello winter.
