Cowichan Lake, how i love you.

Another layout.  I LOVE the colours in this layout.  Who am I kidding, I love rusty orange (Yam in bazzil cardstock) and aqua-blue. 

 
Cowichan lake is one of my favourite places to be.  Only a few times a summer but it is magical.  I made this layout that will soon belong to my E book.  Ali and I got engaged in June of this year and I told myself that I wanted to document the 12 months (we're getting married the same day we were engaged of the following year) in between the engagement and wedding.  Not too much has happened on that front but hey, life was busy.

The plan:  To document not only wedding things but life things that happen in between June 2009 and June 2010. Basically, each month will get a layout, just text and paper and the month.  And then there will be layouts following each month (this one will follow August).  I think it's brilliant and it will work.  I also like it because I can just focus on whatever is happening, wedding related or not!

Felt Halloween Treats, as promised

 

   

 

 Aren't they just too cute?  I'll tell you something else.. I have a set of 3 white ghosts waiting for something to fancy up!  I cut each pumpkin free hand and then stitched all around with regular thread.  I used embroidery thread for the eyes.  Click on each photo for a larger picture. They look better larger. You can see the details!  I just love felt!  It has so many purposes and it's really easy to work with.  One tip: Use SHARP scissors and it will be a breeze!

As I've said I volunteer for a youth program, the YES.  We are a pretty tight knit staff team.  We work together and make an amazing program EVERY summer.  This summer was especially awesome.  I wanted to create a layout to celebrate us.  I hand cut the chipboard letters and then either stamped or painted them.  After they dried I drew on stitching with a white gel pen.  I think it's my favourite part of the layout!  Other notes, I simply stapled on the photos.  If you're wondering about the pattern paper in, it's an old Basic Grey line, Obscure.  Love it!
